This coach tour takes you from downtown Beijing to Badaling, the most intact and well-preserved section of the Great Wall. You'll meet your guide at exit C of Beitucheng subway station on Line 10, then travel by coach to this remarkable piece of ancient engineering that has drawn world leaders and travellers for decades.
The Badaling section offers the most complete views of the wall's original construction, with its watchtowers and defensive features largely intact. You'll have time to walk along the fortifications and take in the mountainous landscape that the wall traverses. After exploring, you'll return by coach to central Beijing.
What to expect
You'll meet your guide at 8:00 AM at exit C of Beitucheng subway station on Line 10, where you'll board a coach for the journey to Badaling. The drive takes you out of Beijing's urban centre into the mountainous region where this section of the Great Wall stands. An afternoon tour option also departs at 4:30 PM.
Once at Badaling, you'll have time to explore the wall at your own pace. The fortifications here showcase the wall's original defensive architecture, with watchtowers positioned along the steep ridgeline. You can climb the steps, walk along the ramparts, and photograph the wall as it snakes across the mountains. After your visit, you'll rejoin the coach for the return journey to central Beijing.
