Melbourne Cricket Ground: Guided Tour

More than 100,000 spectators can gather at Australia's largest stadium to see the gentlemen's game. People have been doing so since September of 1854, when the first ever cricket match was played here. It's witnessed record-breaking events, such as the quickest cricket ball in Australia; bowled here by Shaun Tait in 2010. The top two highest first class scores ever happened at MCG in 1929 and 1923. But the Yarra Park grounds have contained more than just cricket. The grounds have also functioned as the centerpiece stadium for both the 1956 Summer Olympics and the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
